About Us

The Al Denson Foundation, Inc. is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization established in 2003 and located in
Jacksonville, FL. The foundation purpose is to empower the lives of young men and women through education and athletics.

The mission of the Al Denson Foundation, Inc. is to promote and increase student achievement by providing innovative vocational and educational programs with a primary focus on financial literacy, mental health, and test prep; support under-resourced youth (mentoring, enrichment activities that foster students success and overall well-being); support in enrolling in post-secondary institutions; provide senior scholar athletes with academic scholarships within Duval County and surrounding areas.

We believe in the importance of promoting student leaders and aiding them in building a strong
educational framework, to achieving academic and career success upon graduation. With this in mind, we want to bring additional joy and excitement to the lives of student athletes who plan on continuing their post- secondary educational goals.

WHY WE DO THIS

Although access to a higher education, trade school, or certificate program is a fundamental need to
survive in this society, financial support is not relevantly available for some students.  In fact, students
are working extra jobs to stay in college or pursue their post-secondary goals. Therefore, throughout the school year, we seek sponsorships and donations to offer scholar athletes with academic scholarships.

These scholarships assist high school students with additional financial support to begin and/or continue their post-secondary journey. In some cases, these scholarships will support and may prevent an unforeseen expense that may pose a roadblock toward their education.

OUR GOAL

Our chief aim is to promote and increase student achievement by providing new programs and initiatives, support systems fostering student success and overall, well-being; and provide academic scholarships to high school senior scholar athletes that have been accepted into historically black colleges and universities.
